We don’t want harmful and synthetic chemicals on the skin neither of our own children nor of the people producing our fabrics. And we believe that there are already enough toxic substances out there in the world.
That is why we use eco-friendly fabrics free from any kind of harmful substance that don’t effect the environment when being produced. Simple as that.
All the cotton used for our fabrics is grown organically and is GOTS certified. The biggest part of our fabrics comes from small-scale cotton farmers and weavers in Kerala, has been produced on GOTS certified mills and has been traded fairly.
The remainder of our fabrics meet the Oeko-Tex Standard 100/1000.
Our printed fabrics are made of 100% organic cotton and printed with low impact dyes. These dyes are reusable, recycleable and they use less water resources.
In very rare cases we also use pre-loved/vintage fabrics (but only if we can’t help but use them because they are so pretty!).
For each garment we give an individual description of the materials used. So if we know the story of the fabric of your garment we will let you know about it!
Organic Textile Standards
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
Oeko-tex Standard® is an independent testing and certification system for textile products from all stages of textile production. The Oeko-tex® Standard 100 focusses on consumer health and guarantees chemically safe textiles to prevent adverse health reactions induced by textiles. The Oeko-tex Standard 1000 is only applied to fabrics that have been manufactured in environmentally-friendly operations at socially acceptable conditions.
